Calendar notes from early March

(Calendar notes by Roman Kowalczuk)

The visual calendar here on "25 Problems" was not updated for several weeks following the U.S. presidential election last November. Sorry about that.

There were three recent local events worth mentioning: a rally for the science centre was held on Saturday February 22, and there a meeting at Don Mills Collegiate on Monday March 3rd. DMRI said this meeting "was very informative" - they must have attended a different location because at the version that I was at there was
zero discussion allowed.

March 18 saw a consultation about the supposed plan to demolish 1 Deauville Lane in favour of three skyscraper towers.

Corrections:the AODA Alliance had an all candidates Q&A, in person and on-line the other evening, but there was nothing on their Youtube channel. I wrote to their "feedback" e-mail address... no reply. They finally posted a Youtube clip of the event at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEqhe2Akems

The Sat. Feb. 22nd rally for the Ontario Science Centre was pretty good! Pictures, audio and video to be posted; in the meantime one person posted a recording of the whole thing (1.5 hours long) to Youtube. Here's a quick video of some of councillor Rachel Chernos-Lin's remarks which I also posted to Youtube. My short clip got about 20 views!

The rally and the subsequent dismantling of the science centre were not mentioned, eight days later, at the local city councillor's meeting at Don Mills Collegiate.

Here is the visual calendar from late 2024:

Straw poll: What do you think of the more-structured calendar format that web pages like “Indexers dot C A” use? https://indexers.ca/events/

The main feature seems to be that individual days in any month can have pop-up bubbles. Of course I have no idea whether this sort of thing has been audited for use by people with low vision.
