Gentrification (just a placeholder post)
So the main "forum" here is about the Flemingdon Park area, and Don Mills in general. Part of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The other "sub"-forums, like this one — which is a reference to the book The Edge Becomes The Center: An Oral History Of Gentrification by "DW Gibson" — are simply placeholders, put here for future expansion. The whole thing still needs some re-arranging.
While I'm at it anyone interested in emergency planning and the security of the electrical power grid should have a look at William R. Forstchen's novel One Second After. It's a fictional scenario of a bad situation from the perspective of a small town in the mountains of North Carolina. Part of a trilogy. Chilling.

The DW Gibson book was reviewed in the New York Times about ten years ago.
