About 40-45 people have come out to the public consultation this evening.

Re: Deauville Lane consultation
The developer's consultant breezily went through poor quality drone shots. He said that one slide of Don Mills Road "showed the Ontario Line"... it did not.
He referred to the "former" Science Centre as though it was in the past. Again this is what, less than four weeks after Josh Marlow's Feb. 22 "rally to save the Science Centre". And he proceeded to reference, with a straight face, the "Science Centre Station" on the north side of Eglinton. As a local feature.

The city's sign, in front of 1 Deauville Lane.
Incredibly, they are showing the two new towers on the 48 Grenoble site! But the South tower at 25 St. Dennis Drive doesn't exist, and neither does 7 St. Dennis.

Re: Deauville Lane consultation
The developer's consultants made a point of remarking adequate space between the towers; it sure doesn't look like it in the above image! So why don't they prepare a digital video walk-through of the project???
Although the meeting was much, much better than most of these things have tended to be, some of it was still a bit contrived. Here's architect Heather Richardson referencing a poster, for the benefit of people in the audience.
Unfortunately the images that she is pointing at are impossible as the camera is positioned at an angle and corresponding focal length that in real life would be impossible to do! Because the "twin towers" of Tenblock's 48 Grenoble Dr. development would COMPLETELY BLOCK that particular viewing point. Heh.

Early transcript of comments, from March 18 Deauville Lane consultation
I finally got around to transcribing my notes from the March 18 consultation at Gateway P.S.:
https://25problems.com/notes/20250318-comments-transcript-last-person-to-speak.txt
I was the last person to speak.
I fumbled a couple of points - like where the elevated guideway terminus is starting to look like it's going to be awfully close to the CPR main line (see this video clip made at the corner of Don Mills Road and Wynford Dr. - propane cars rolling along on a Sunday afternoon, very nice) and also the part at the end where I entered my plea for ongoing, dynamic discussions.
So the above file is obviously not ready for prime time, but I do intend to print it up, and I’ll try to include the Land Tribunal's contact information and some third party commentary on the situation:
https://tribunalwatch.ca/2024/tribunal- ... o-justice/
^^^ Please note that a message that contains the above link DOES come up, on my "25 Problems" site, if you enter tribunal watch in the search box.
And again, I mentioned the Land Tribunal in the context of the build-up on and beside St. Dennis Drive. Nobody seems to know what is going on with the golf course, and the city is holding its cards in a data silo format.
Kind regards, Roman
