Tenblock nonsense

Post by Admin »

I just had a thing with some people from Tenblock - they are the people who are keen on demolishing the rental building at 48 Grenoble Drive.

Jocelyn Meeks from Bousfields was there too. She sure gets around, heh.

I'm betting she did not discuss the the new 40+ storey condo proposals along Don Mills Road with the 48 Grenoble tenants! It's not relevant after all. It's a TOTALLY SEPARATE ‘community development’ thang. Oh yeah.

So the manager launches into her spiel (the pretty pictures all all nice glass and steel, but they never,
ever show the surrounding digs and the overall impact on the area across from the science centre.) Did I like the picture? I said a digital model would be more useful and she goes "oh, you can download one from the city's web pages".

Um... no?

The city's materials are not indexed and in many instances the files are not even labelled!
She gave me her e-mail address at Tenblock which in itself was a tiny step forward - Tenblock's name does not appear on the letter that the tenants got.

Last night at Queen's Park there were *a lot* of unhappy Tenblock people on the lawn for a protest/rally put on by No Demovictions.
