Emergency Preparedness Expo

Post by Admin »

For what it's worth I requested the notes from the recent “Canadian Emergency Preparedness and Climate Adaptation Convention” in Edmonton. I was interested in what happened - who-all attended from local ministries and agencies, and what did they learn that they are willing to share??

You can bet your toasty
*winter boots* that senior people from the R.C.M.P., O.P.P., O.E.M. and TPS made tracks to this one - if nothing else it's a great excuse to get away from the wife for a couple of days!!! Whether or not the man on the street here in Toronto can assess the plans (or lack thereof) is a different story... after all people hunkering down (to sit out the storm) is generally bad for business.

Unfortunately the show notes turned out to be poor. 25problems.com/download/cepca2024_post-show-report-v2.pdf

Note that the exhibition/conference company did not provide the e-mail address up front; you had to register. It is “customerservice” at “emergencyexpo dot com”.

I suppose I/you/we may still write to the various government agencies though, to try find out exactly who attended from these parts, and what the takeaway was.

A couple of years back local TDSB trustee Farzana Radwanji was quick to fly off to Alberta for a conference (Like Bernstein and Woodward, I am not making this up). Lots of luck with getting *HER* notes eh?

The e-mail address for the emergency preparedness is “customerservice” at “emergencyexpo dot com”.
